A Columbus, Ohio native, Teaira Harrison joined Central State University on a full athletic scholarship out of Mifflin High School. Her Marauder journey began with adversity — an ACL injury in just her second game as a freshman. But what could have ended her career became the fuel for her remarkable comeback.
Teaira returned stronger than ever, becoming a versatile force who excelled at every position from shooting guard to center. Her determination and skill led to All-Conference honors in 2000 and 2001, a spot on the 2002 NAIA 1st Team All-Independent Region, and a place in the record books when she surpassed 1,000 career points.
Guiding the Lady Marauders to four straight NAIA National Tournament appearances, Teaira was instrumental in the team’s historic first-ever Final Four run and record-setting offensive season — including an astonishing 15 games with 100+ points scored.
Her impact was further recognized with team honors such as Co-MVP (2002-03) and the Unsung Hero Award (2001-02).
After graduating in 2003 with a B.A. in Communications, Teaira Harrison left a legacy of resilience, excellence, and leadership that continues to inspire Marauders today.
