Box Score 2 CSU earns two SIACÂ wins in Memphis; remain hopeful for spot in SIACÂ Tournament
MEMPHIS, Tennessee - While most Centralians made the annual trip back to campus for this weekend's homecoming festivities, the Lady Marauder volleyball team was in Memphis, Tennessee for the SIAC West Division Round Up.
Battling to qualify for next month's conference tournament, CSU beat Lane College and Miles College on Friday.
Desiree Howard led CSU to a 3-1 victory over Miles with a season-high 17 kills. She also tallied five service aces and 12 digs in the victory. Deja Clark, the reigning SIAC Newcomer of the Week, finished the match with 14 kills and a season-high six blocks.
Howard and Clark continued their stellar play in a 3-0 win over Lane. Howard recorded 15 kills and Clark had nine. Akaila Howard finished with 27 assists.
CSU is currently in fourth place in the SIAC West Division with one conference game remaining against Kentucky State (Oct. 30).
The top four teams from the East and West Division will move on to the SIAC Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama (Nov. 5 - Nov. 7).
