Dominating Road Win for the Marauders Over LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — November 1, 2025 — Central State University volleyball closed its road trip in commanding fashion, sweeping LeMoyne-Owen College (25–12, 25–11, 25–12) on Saturday afternoon inside Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium.

The win marked the Marauders' weekend sweep and improved their record to 13–10 overall and 9–7 in SIAC play, while the Magicians fell to 3–21 on the season.


Complete Team Effort

The Marauders dominated every phase of the match, hitting an impressive .342 while holding LeMoyne-Owen to a –.048 attack percentage. Central State posted 35 kills, 11 aces, and 52 digs in one of its most efficient outings of the season.

Leading the charge was Maya Hendricks, who turned in a stellar all-around performance with 12 kills and 15 digs, hitting .440 for the match. Zahra Coates and Braelynn Reese each added seven kills, with Reese hitting an outstanding .875 and contributing two blocks.

Setter Nevaeh Brownlee orchestrated the attack beautifully, recording 25 assists and two aces, while Jasmin Churchill and Karin Camacho Diaz each served three aces to keep the Magicians on their heels.


Defensive Dominance

Defensively, the Marauders controlled the net and back row. Hendricks and Johanna Holston combined for 24 digs, while Reese and Churchill each registered blocks that disrupted LeMoyne-Owen's offensive rhythm. The team out-dug the Magicians 52-35, demonstrating relentless effort from start to finish.


Statement Win

After cruising through the first set 25–12, Central State built early momentum in the second and never looked back. Consistent serving pressure and crisp offensive execution led to another 25–11 win before the Marauders closed the match with a 25–12 sweep in the third.
