2024 Cricket SIAC Women's Volleyball Championship Preview: Central State vs. Savannah State

Central State concluded their season with an overall record of 13-19 and 10-9 record in the SIAC.  The Marauders will be entering as the West Division's 3rd Seed earning a match up against the East Division's 2nd seed Savannah State. This is the first post-season trip for the Marauders since 2021 and highest win total since that season.  

First year head coach Devin Walker looks to avenge a less than stellar early season 3-0 loss (25-23, 25-17, 25-17) to Savannah State.  The Marauders winners of 6 of their last 8 games try to ride that momentum vs SSU in the opening match up.  The Marauders will need big offensive performances from outside hitters Zahra Coates and Braelynn Reese while leaning on dual setters Brooke Morris and Nevaeh Brownlee.  The Marauders will also need to combat the high powered offense of SSU with key defense and accurate passing and will rely heavily on late season star libero Amasjah Gillings to provide that key defense.  You can catch the action on the brand new SIAC Network.
