Marauders beat Alderson-Broaddus in three sets
ST. LOUIS, Missouri - The Central State Marauder men's volleyball team defeated Alderson-Broaddus in three sets on Saturday night.
With the victory, CSU snaps an eight match losing streak will improving to 4-10 overall. AB falls to 2-9 on the season.
The Marauders won with scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-17. CSU combined for 33 kills, 14 errors and 72 total attacks for a hitting percentage of .264. AB recorded 27 kills and 14 errors on 78 attacks to finish with a .167 percentage.Â
Without the services of starting setter
Marcus Franck and key offensive player Henrique Doedorlein Do Amaril, the Marauders showed off their depth as the team received significant contributions from
Carlos Pinto and
Tyrone Sands.
Pinto, a versatile player from Brazil, stepped in for Franch and recorded 25 assists along with eight digs. Sands led all players with 12 kills in the match while
Cameron Lee added 11 kills.
Victor Scherer finished with 13 digs.
CSU travels to Adrian College on Friday
