Marauders beat Kentucky State and Alderson Broaddus on Saturday
FRANKFORT, Kentucky - The Central State men's volleyball team did not lose a set while earning wins over Kentucky State and Alderson Broaddus on Saturday.
In Saturday's opening match against rival Kentucky State, CSU was dominant with wins of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-16. With the victory, CSU remained undefeated in SIAC play with a 5-0 overall mark.
The Marauder offense combined for 40 kills and a .338 hitting percentage against KSU.
Cameron Lee led the CSU attack with 12 kills.
Victor Scherer finished with 8 digs.
Alain Tamo-Noche recorded 3 blocks and
Marcus Franck distributed 24 assists.
The Marauders carried the positive momentum into Saturday's second match against Alderson Broaddus, beating the battlers in three sets with scores of 25-14, 25-11, and 25-16.Â
The Marauders combined for 35 kills and a .367 hitting percentage.Â
D'Aaron McCraney finished with 11 kills to lead the Marauder offense. Lee recorded nine kills and Franck recorded 20 assists.
After dropping the first 10 matches of the season, CSU has now won seven of its last nine matches. With Saturday's wins over KSU and Alderson Broaddus, CSU is now 7-11 overall.
CSU resumes conference play at Edward Waters on Friday.
