Central State goes 1-1 on weekend road trip
After losing a hard fought contest to Edward Waters in four sets on Friday (22-25, 27-25, 20-25, 17-25), the Central State Marauders bounced back with a four set win over Benedict on Saturday (25-17, 25-15, 22-25, 25-17).
CSU's
Cameron Lee was impressive throughout the weekend. Lee finished with 17 kills against EWU and 18 kills at BC.
Marcus Franck, who was named SIAC Setter of the Week on Monday, totalled 38 assists against EWU and a season-high 44 assists in Saturday's win over BC.
Libero
Victor Scherer continued his consistent play defensively with 14 digs at EWU followed by 13 digs against BC.
With this weekend's results, CSU is now 8-12 overall and tied with EWU for first in the SIAC with a 6-1 conference ledger.
The Marauders travel to play at the University of Charleston on Tuesday.
