Central State remains undefeated in conference play with weekend wins over Benedict and Edward Waters

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State men's volleyball team won two of three home matches this weekend which included SIAC wins over Benedict and Edward Waters to stay undefeated in conference play.

In Friday's home match against Benedict, CSU won in three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-16.
Yaron Afek led CSU with 11 kills along with five aces and a .381 hitting percentage.
D'Aaron McCraney finished with nine kills and a .467 hitting percentage.
Marcus Franck led all players with 26 assists and three blocks.
Victor Scherer recorded nine digs as CSU claimed its first win on its home court this season.

Ras Hesse Delancy paced BC's efforts with 12 kills.
As a team, CSU combined for 34 kills and 15 errors on 82 attacks (.232) while BC recorded 28 kills and 18 errors on 73 attacks (.137). CSU also had 11 aces compared to two from BC.

In the first of two matches on Saturday, CSU faced an Edward Waters program who also won 3-0 in conference play the previous night. EWU took the first set over a confident CSU team, 25-22. The Marauders responded with a one-sided 25-14 result in the second set and remained in control with wins of 25-19 and 25-17 to extend their winning streak to four matches and improving to 4-0 in the SIAC.

Cameron Lee came off the bench to lead CSU with a match-high 14 kills and a .500 hitting percentage. McCraney added 13 kills and four blocks. Franck finished with 28 assists and a team-best five aces.

Kaelin Ingram led EWU's offensive efforts with 12 kills.

In the win over EWU, CSU recorded its second match of the season with a .300 hitting percentage or better (.330). CSU's combined 57 kills was the second highest total in any match this season and the most for CSU in a four-set contest.

In the final match of the weekend against Purdue Fort Wayne, a NCAA Div. I program from the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. CSU lost in three sets. The Marauders were outdueled in the first set, 25-17, before being edge 25-22 in the second frame and 25-20 in the final set.

Lee and McCraney finished with 5 kills each to lead CSU's offensive efforts. PFW was paced by Rico Wardlow's eight kills.

After starting the inaugural volleyball season out with an 0-9 overall record, CSU has won five of the last seven matches. The Marauders currently sit on top of the SIAC standings with a 4-0 ledger and are 5-11 overall.

th on the road at Kentucky State University.
