Marauders edged by Spring Hill, 70-66
MOBILE, Alabama - For the second time in six days, Central State lost to Spring Hill by a four-point margin.Â
After a three-pointer by CSU's
Willie Jackson brought the Marauders within one with 1:31 to play, Georgios Kostikas converted a three-point play on the other end. Both teams came up empty on each of the last two offensive possessions before
Marcus Steele scored to keep CSU within two points with 32 seconds left. A basket and a pair of free throws from Beril Kambaba in the final 30 seconds proved to be the difference as SHC went on to the 77-66 win.
SHC outscored CSU, 40-22, in the paint. SHC also held an edge in points off turnovers, 13-7.
Kabamba led SHC with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Jaden Gray came off the bench to score 13 points.
CSU was paced by
Willie Jackson's 20 points.
CSU dropped to 6-13 on the season and 3-10 in SIAC play. SHC improved to 5-15 overall and 3-10 in the conference.
CSU plays at Tuskegee on Monday night.
