Marauders drop eighth straight in 75-70 loss to LeMoyne-Owen
WILBERFORCE, Ohio - The Central State Marauders dropped their eighth straight game in a 75-70 loss to LeMoyne-Owen on Thursday.
CSU jumped out to an early 12 point lead and took a 41-35 lead at half. LOC erased the deficit midwau through the second half and built a seven point lead with 2:07 to play. A dunk by
Jovon Jones and a layin by
Marcus Steele cut the deficit down to three with a minute to play but clutch free throw shooting by LOC propelled the Magicians to the five-point win.
CSU committed 14 turnovers comapred to just seven LOC giveaways.
Gjerard Wilson paced the Magicians with a game-high 18 points. Micah Evans scored 17 points.
CSU guard
Willie Jackson led the Marauders with 15 points. Lavar Miller added 12 points and Jones finished with 10 points,
Brad Lewis recorded a season-high 15 rebounds along with four steals.
The loss drops CSU to 6-17 overall and 3-14 in the SIAC. LOC improves to 13-10 on the year with a 9-8 conference record.
CSU hosts Miles on Saturday at 3 pm.
