CSU scoring trio leads Marauders past Bluefield State, 93-86
 

BLUEFIELD, West Virginia – Three Central State players scored 20 or more points as the Marauders beat Bluefield State, 93-86, on Wednesday
 
 
With their fourth straight win, the Marauders improve to 13-10 overall. BSU falls to 9-12 on the year.
 
 
CSU battled back from a 10-point deficit in the first half to trail by just one, 42-41, at halftime. Jumping ahead 69-66 midway through the second half, CSU manufactured a 9-0 run capped off by a three-point play by Harris Brown. A few minutes late, CSU went on a 8-2 run. A Darweshi Hunter free throw put CSU up by 14 with 5:03 to play. CSU tempered a late BSU run by going six of eight from the free throw line in the final three minutes to seal the win.
 
 
Both teams shot the ball well from the field as CSU made 35 of 72 shots (48.6%) and BSU converted 34 of 72 attempts (47.2%).
 
 
CSU forced BSU into 16 turnovers and held a 23-10 edge in points off of giveaways.
 
 
Hunter led CSU with a game-high 25 points along with seven rebounds. Dreon Lewis went nine for 13 from the field for 21 points. Harris Brown finished with 20 points, four assists and three steals.
 
 
Marquez Cooper led BSU with 20 points and seven assists.
 
 
CSU resumes conference play at home on Saturday against Miles.
