Marauders take down Tuskegee, 78-68
 

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Marauders defeated Tuskegee, 78-68, on Monday night.
 
 
With the win, CSU improves to 12-10 overall record with a 9-6 ledger in SIAC play. TU fell to 14-8 on the year with an 11-4 mark in SIAC play.
 
 
CSU led by as many as 13 in the first half and took a 47-40 lead at half. CSU extended its lead back up to 13 after a Theo Howard three-pointer with 14:15 to play. Down by double-figures, CSU surrendered a 7-0 run. A James Eads three-pointer brought TU within three, 65-62, with 8 minutes to play. CSU responded with a 9-2 run capped off by a Darweshi Hunter drive to the basket. Up 74-64 with 4:12 to play, CSU held TU to one field goal down the stretch to seal the win.

CSU converted 11 of 15 free throws (73.3%) while TU made six of 10 from the line (60%). The Marauders forced 21 turnovers and held a 21-9 advantage in points scored off of giveaways.
 

Harris Brown led CSU scorers with 22 points. Hunter finished with 17 points and five rebounds. Tom Johnson added 13 points, nine assists and eight rebounds while Dreon Lewis recorded 13 points and five rebounds.

Eads led Tuskegee with a game-high 27 points. Myles Thomas finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

CSU will travel to play at Bluefield State on Wednesday.
