Marauders lose to Clark Atlanta, 82-69
 

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Marauders lost to Clark Atlanta, 82-69, on Saturday
 
 
The loss drops CSU to 6-6 overall with a 3-4 record in SIAC play. CAU improves to 5-9 on the season with a 5-1 record in the conference.


 
Freshman Darweshi Hunter with 11 of CSU's first 13 points and the Marauders built a five-point lead by the 8:16 mark of the opening half. Up 25-21, CSU surrendered a 9-0 run to CAU and went into the half down, 36-31.
 
 
CAU extended its lead to 11 by the 12:52 mark of the second half. Back-to-back three-point makes by Harris Brown helped CSU cut the deficit down to 56-53 with 9:09 remaining. CAU responded with a 19-4 run to seize control, 75-57, with 4:01 to play and cruised to the double-digit win.
 
 
CSU had 17 giveaways and were outscored, 28-17, in points off of turnovers.
 
 
Four CAU players scored in double-figures. Romaine Thomas finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Tyler Singleton added 15 points and five assists. Ian Roach scored 11 points and Colin Bell had 10 points.
 
 
CSU was paced by Hunter's 27 points and six rebounds. Brown scored 14 points off the bench. No other CSU player had more than six points as the Marauders dropped their third straight game.
 
 
CSU will travel to play at Salem University on Tuesday at 7 pm.
