Box Score Marauders fall to Salem in final seconds
 

SALEM, West Virginia – The Central State Marauders were edged by Salem, 77-75.
 
 
The loss drops CSU to 6-7 overall while SU improves to 8-7 on the season,

 
Up by 72-65 with 3:40 to play, CSU surrendered a 10-0 run before a Orion Monford three-pointer with 14 seconds left broke CSU's offensive dry spell and brought them within two. SU missed two free throws in the final 10 seconds of the game but the Marauders were unable to convert on two potential game-winning three point attempts.
 
CSU had a tough shooting night making 26 of 82 field goal attempts (31.7%) while SU converted 28 of 60 shots (46.7%). CSU also was subpar from the free throw line with a 14 for 24 performance (58.3%).
 
Salem was led by Shawn Christian's 20 points. Fonz Hale came off the bench to score 19 points while Malique Ross and Stan Smith each finished with 10 points.
 
Four CSU players scored in double-figures. Darweshi Hunter led CSU with 20 points and a season-high 14 rebounds. Dreon Lewis scored 15 points off the bench. Quinton Glaspie had 13 points and seven rebounds and Harris Brown added 12 points.
 
 
CSU returns home on Saturday to host Kentucky State at 3 pm.
