Fisher leads Marauders to 67-62 win over Tuskegee on Senior Day

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Marauders ended a three-game losing streak with a 67-62 win over Tuskegee on Saturday

The win improves the Marauders record to 6-21 overall with a 4-13 mark in the SIAC. TU falls to 12-13 on the year with a 8-9 conference record.

Prior to the game, Malik Fisher, the only senior on CSU's roster, was honored as part of the Marauders' Senior Day ceremony. Fisher followed up the ceremony by scoring seven points in the first ten minutes of play while teammate Quinton Glaspie hit three of his first four attempts from three point range as the Marauders jumped out to a 20-11 lead at the 10:15 mark of the first half. Tuskegee responded with a 9-3 run to cut the deficit down to three. In his first game back since December, CSU guard Dorian Crutcher added a dunk and a three-point field goal in the final five minutes of the half to help the Marauders take a 35-30 lead into intermission.

Clinging to a two-point lead at the 15:36 mark of the second half, Glaspie banked a three-pointer off the glass to spark a 10-1 run as CSU jumped ahead 54-42 with 9:41 to play. CSU maintained a comfortable double-digit lead into the final 30 second of play. TU ended the game on a seemingly meaningless 6-0 run as the Marauders went on to the eventual five-point victory.

CSU combined to convert 50% of its three-point shot attempts (9-18) while TU finished the game shooting 26.1% (6-23) from beyond the arc.

Fisher finished with a season-high 15 points to lead CSU offensively. Crutcher added 14 points. Glaspie finished with 12 points and Orion Monford scored 10 points.

TU was led by Kaleb Morton's 12 points.

The Marauders will conclude the regular season at home on Monday against Miles College.
