Marauders lose to Goshen, 71-64
 
GOSHEN, Indiana – The Central State Marauders lost to Goshen, 71-64, on Friday.
 
Dropping its eighth straight contest, CSU is now 1-11 overall while Goshen improves to 4-11 on the season.
 
The Marauders led by as many as five in the opening half. The Goshen shooters began to find their touch as the Maple Leafs proceeded to knock down five three-pointers in the first half and took a 32-31 lead at halftime.
 
Goshen took control of the game in the second half. GC converted 55% of its shot attempts in the final 20 minutes of play allowing the Maple Leafs to extend their lead to 13 with six minutes remaining.
 
CSU struggled from the perimeter, converting three of 16 shot attempts from beyond the arc. GC knocked down 12 of 33 attempts from three-point range.
 
Alhassan Barrie led the Goshen scoring with 15 points. Demarkus Stuckey chipped in with 13 points.
 
Forward Dreon Lewis led CSU with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Orion Monford added 17 points.
 
The Marauders will travel to play Paine College on Monday night.

Dreon Lewis made his season debut for CSU on Friday.
 
Goshen is a member of the NAIA.
