Marauders lose by one to Lane
 

JACKSON, Tennessee – The Central State Marauders dropped their third straight game, falling to Lane College, 77-76, on Thursday night.
 
With the loss, Central State is now 1-6 overall with an 0-3 ledger in the SIAC. Lane improves to 4-2 on the season with a perfect 3-0 mark in the conference.
 
Lane began the night by scoring the first 11 points of the game. LC's led by as many as 15 in the first half before taking a 44-35 lead at halftime.
 
The Marauders opened the second half on a 11-2 run. A pair of free throws by Dwight Richards, Jr. tied the game, 46-46. CSU gradually built up a lead, taking a six point advantage after a Randal Clarkson, Jr. basket at the 12:47 mark.
 
LC kept within striking distance of the lead and knotted the game back up, 67-67, on a three-point make from LaJustin Anderson with 4:53 left to play.
 
The difference down the stretch proved to be the play of LC's Terrace Holt, who hit two three-pointers and two game-clinching free throws to put his team up by four with 23 seconds left.
 
Holt finished with a team-high 25 points.
 
Richards, Jr. paced CSU offensively with a game-high 31 points.
 
CSU continues conference play this Saturday at LeMoyne-Owen.
