Coach Candace joins Central State University after an extended time in Florida. Her collegiate experience hails from North Carolina A&T State University where she played Middle Blocker. Candace has coached consecutively for 25 years, leading club teams of all ages and levels, High Schools and Middle Schools. She has coached for Texas’ ‘Houston Juniors’ and ’Skyline.’ After leaving Texas she relocated to St. Augustine, FL, and worked as a Coach and Club Director for ‘Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association,’ assisted at ‘St. John’s River State College’ as well as 'Florida State College at Jacksonville' has been a prominent member of USAV’s ‘TEAM FLORIDA,’ where she coached her way to (6) Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal. Candace is also involved with Gold Medal Squared. Additionally, Candace was voted the 2020 ACVA Coach of the Year for the 13’s age bracket.Â
Candace brings more than athletic and coaching successes to CSU; she is also the founder of SHINE BRIGHT, a crafted program for women and girls in sports that teaches mental and physical techniques to curate culture, jumpstart and prolong self-motivation & belief, and how to deal with the pressures of life on and off the court through with a positive outlook and mind.Â
