Rod Tolen joins the Marauder coaching staff from Minnetonka High school in Minnetonka, Minnesota. He spent five years at Minnetonka on the defensive side of the ball, with two of those years as defensive coordinator (2022-2024). Prior to his time at Minnetonka, Rod was a part of the 2016 Fort Valley State University coaching staff as a graduate assistant Defensive Back coach.
 Since 2016 Rod has been working with teens and young adults, specifically student athletes through multiple organizations, including his own non profit. Rod has partnered with athletic programs and organizations to focus on the holistic identity development of student athletes. Rod Tolen’s playing career was at Point University from 2011-2013. At Point University he played defensive back as a part of the inaugural football team, where he also earned the role of captain in 2013.
Rod and his wife Lilly have three children: Rowen, Saveah, and Adara.
