  • Title
    Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Safeties-Nickel

Central State University Football is proud to welcome NFL veteran and collegiate head coach Quintin Demps as the new Defensive Pass Game Coordinator and Safeties Coach. Head Coach Tony Carter expressed his enthusiasm about the addition, saying, “Coach Demps brings a wealth of experience from the highest levels of football, both as a player and a coach. His leadership, character, and knowledge of the game will immediately elevate our secondary and overall defensive strategy. We’re thrilled to have him join the Marauder family.”

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Demps brings over a decade of experience as a professional athlete, having played 10 seasons in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, and Chicago Bears. Throughout his professional career, he amassed an impressive stat line that includes 312 tackles, 18 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 3 career touchdowns. Known for his ball-hawking ability and versatility, Demps was a consistent threat in the secondary and as a return specialist.

Demps played collegiately at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he became one of the program’s all-time greats. He ranks second in school history with 17 career interceptions, showcasing the elite instincts and field awareness that defined his playing career.

Following his time in the NFL, Demps transitioned into coaching with the same passion and purpose that made him a standout player. He most recently served as the Head Football Coach at Judson University, where he was instrumental in building a Christ-centered culture and developing young men on and off the field. He previously served as Judson’s Defensive Backs Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach, while also gaining experience at Trinity International University and Grayslake Central High School as a defensive coordinator and track coach.

Demps is currently pursuing a degree in mental health counseling with a theology component, a testament to his commitment to holistic player development—spiritually, mentally, and athletically.

Central State is honored to add a leader like Quintin Demps to its coaching staff, and the program looks forward to the impact he will make in developing one of the nation’s most disciplined and dynamic defensive backfields.
