Michael Whitley

Michael Whitley served on the Central State University football staff during the 2022-2023 football season as the quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator.


Whitley previously was part of the coaching staff at Fort Valley State University and Wisconsin Lutheran College.


Prior to embarking on his coaching career, Whitley was a three-time Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year at Lakeland University from 2015 to 2017.


Lakeland won four consecutive conference titles during Whitley's playing career. The Louisiana native was twice tabbed as the Wisconsin Private College Player of the Year and earned All-America honors as a senior from the AFCA and D3football.com. Whitley holds of the conference's career record for passing touchdowns with 91.


Whitley was also a four-time NACC Scholar Athlete. Whitley played professionally in Germany as well as two different indoor football teams prior to beginning his coaching career.
