James Hudgins III

James Hudgins III currently serves as Central State University's receivers coach and football recruiting coordinator.


Hudgins III has served as an assistant coach for the Marauder football program since the summer of 2018. Prior to joining the CSU coaching staff, Hudgins spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons coaching running backs at Hiram College. During the 2015 season, he coached quarterbacks and running backs at Dakota College of Bottinaeu. In 2014, Hudgins III coached at Allderdice High School as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. From 2013 to 2015, he coached as an assistant for the Evolve 7 on 7 Pittsburgh National Team.



Growing up in Pittsburgh, Hudgins was an All-City quarterback playing for Perry High School. He went on to quarterback at Central State from 2009 through 2012 while graduating from CSU with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. In 2017, Hudgins earned his Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Concordia University of Texas.
