Christopher Murphy joins the Central State University football staff as a first-year assistant coach, bringing over a decade of diverse coaching and athletic development experience across the high school, college, and professional levels. A passionate and detail-oriented coach, Murphy has a proven track record of building offensive and special teams units and developing student-athletes on and off the field.
Murphy’s coaching journey includes time with several professional indoor football teams, including the Cedar Rapids Titans and the New Jersey Raiders, where he served as a Head Coach, General Manager, and Offensive Line Coach Most recently, Murphy held the position of Special Teams Coordinator at Judson University.. He has also held coaching roles at Lake Forest Academy, Johnsburg High School, Bogota High School (NJ), and multiple collegiate programs including Lake Forest Academy and Fox Valley Eagles, where he helped lead championship-caliber units and mentored dozens of all-conference athletes.
He specializes in offensive line play and special teams coordination and has experience in film breakdown, practice planning, recruiting, academic support, and team operations. Murphy’s leadership extends beyond the field with prior roles in education, behavior management, and sports marketing and sales.
Murphy played college football and earned his education at Concordia University (WI), McHenry County College, and Illinois College. He is a graduate of Huntley High School in Huntley, Illinois, where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete and student leader.
His commitment to personal growth and player development makes him a valuable addition to the Marauder coaching staff.
