Coaching Background:
Coach Ross served as an offensive line coach at West Hills College. Ross's first break in coaching came as a student assistant offensive line coach under current Marauder Coach Pearl while the two were at Alabama A&M University. In his first season at CSU, Ross took an offensive line unit that was ranked near the bottom of the conference to one of the top pass and run blocking teams in the SIAC. The Marauders gave up just 11 sacks which was the second least among all SIAC schools and ranked 36th best in all of Div. II football. The offensive line paved the way for the conference's third best rushing attack averaging 183 yards per game and 4.5 yards per carry.
Ross also was coordinator for the kicking team which posted best field goal kicking percentage in the SIAC (.857).
In his second season with the Marauders, Ross helped develop a SIAC 1st Team selection in Keenan Woods. Despite a year riddled with injuries to the offensive line, the unit managed to give up just 15 sacks - the least in the SIAC. The line helped the offense to 1800 rushing yards on the year. Ross also took on the role of coaching the kick return team. Behind All-SIAC kick returner Clim Robbins, the unit improved from 12th in the conference in 2014 up to No. 5 in 2015.
