Batchelor & Cochran Earn USTFCCCA All-South Region Honors for Marauders
NEW ORLEANS, La. — Central State University Track & Field continues to make its mark on the national stage, as Jay-Deen Batchelor and Jae-Lijah Cochran have been named USTFCCCA All-South Region honorees for the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season.
The recognition, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), is awarded to the top-five performers in each event within their respective region, highlighting the elite level of competition across NCAA Division II.
Batchelor Shines in Breakout Freshman Campaign
Freshman standout Jay-Deen Batchelor earned All-Region honors in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, capping off a dominant debut indoor season.
Batchelor delivered clutch performances when it mattered most, recording personal-best times of 7.61 in the 60m and 24.72 in the 200m—both of which resulted in gold medal finishes at the SIAC Indoor Championships.
Her ability to perform under pressure and score at a championship level immediately established her as one of the premier sprinters in the South Region.
Cochran Continues Championship Form
Junior sprinter Jae-Lijah Cochran added to his growing list of accolades with an All-Region selection in the men's 60-meter dash.
Cochran posted a season-best time of 6.77, a performance that not only secured his place among the region's elite but also earned him the SIAC Indoor Championship title in the event.
Known for his explosive starts and strong finishes, Cochran has been a consistent leader for the Marauders sprint program.
