Mobile, Ala. — Despite Spring Hill's record, nothing comes easy on the road in the SIAC—especially after a long trip from Ohio to the Gulf Coast. The Central State University men's basketball team proved that Thursday night, holding on late to earn a hard-fought 76–74 victory over Spring Hill Badgers men's basketball at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The contest was tightly contested from the opening tip, with 11 ties and 19 lead changes underscoring just how evenly matched the game was throughout. Central State went into halftime deadlocked at 35–35 before leaning on efficiency and poise in the second half to escape with the win.
Ramar Pryor delivered a dominant performance, pouring in a game-high 30 points on 10-of-14 shooting while going a perfect 9-for-9 at the free-throw line. Pryor also added four rebounds and three steals in 36 minutes of action. Micah Bays was nearly as efficient, finishing with 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range.
Javantae Randle rounded out the balanced scoring effort with 15 points, four rebounds, two blocks, and three steals, providing key defensive stops down the stretch. As a team, the Marauders shot an impressive 52.9 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line, including 12-of-14 shooting at the stripe in the second half.
Spring Hill was led by Rocco Lamuno's 19 points and eight assists, while Stephon MacDonald added 12 points off the bench. The Badgers kept pressure on Central State until the final seconds, but the Marauders executed late to secure the road victory.
The win improves Central State Marauders men's basketball to 5–7 overall and 4–6 in SIAC play, providing momentum as the team quickly turns its attention to another road test. Central State will travel to Albany, Georgia, to face Albany State on Saturday as conference play continues.
