Box Score Marauders Advance to SIAC Semifinals with Victory Over Morehouse
Atlanta, GA – March 6, 2025 – The Central State Marauders continued their impressive run in the SIAC Tournament, securing a hard-fought 77-70 quarterfinal victory over Morehouse College at Frank L. Forbes Arena. With this win, the Marauders recorded their 17th victory of the season, marking their most successful campaign since 2019.
First Half Dominance
The Marauders set the tone early, building an 11-point lead by halftime, 38-27. Efficient shooting from beyond the arc (46.15% in the first half) and tenacious defense (Steven Key II with 6 steals) helped CSU control the tempo. Ramar Pryor led the way, scoring 26 points on an outstanding 10-of-12 shooting performance, including a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range.
Morehouse's Second-Half Surge Falls Short
Morehouse fought back in the second half, outscoring CSU 43-39, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit. The Maroon Tigers struggled from deep, converting only 25% of their three-point attempts. Cedric Taylor III paced Morehouse with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Jaden Gray added 13 points.
Marauders' Balanced Attack
Alongside Pryor's stellar night, Savion Marshall-Hamilton contributed 11 points and seven rebounds despite some foul trouble. Khalil Luster and Brandon Scott each chipped in 10 points, providing key offensive support. CSU shot an impressive 50% from the field and 87.5% from the free-throw line, ensuring they maintained their lead despite Morehouse's late push.
