Wilberforce, OH – The Central State Marauders dominated their home court in a straight-set sweep over the Morehouse Maroon Tigers, securing their first conference victory of the season in a decisive 25-6, 25-20, 25-21 win at Beacom/Lewis Gym.
From the opening set, the Marauders (2-9, 1-0 SIAC) asserted their dominance, capitalizing on Morehouse's struggles. Central State posted an efficient .643 hitting percentage in the first frame while holding Morehouse to a staggering negative -.333 attack percentage. The Marauders maintained control throughout, finishing the match with a .296 hitting percentage compared to Morehouse's -.058.
Offensive Firepower
Toulmin Williams IV led the charge for Central State, tallying a match-high 10 kills while also adding three service aces. Tyrese Tuten and Simon Falayi contributed heavily with 8 and 7 kills, respectively, helping the Marauders secure key points at crucial moments. Setter Adam Sheppard facilitated the attack with an impressive 28 assists.
Defensive Strength
On the defensive end, Simon Falayi was a force at the net with four blocks, while Benjamin Latham anchored the backline with a team-high 8 digs. Morehouse struggled to find consistency, with Daniel Allen leading with just 7 kills, and no other player recording more than two.
