Marauders Roll in Home Opener Behind Randle's Dominance, Balanced Attack in Front of Electric Beacom Crowd
WILBERFORCE, Ohio — November 17, 2025
The Beacom/Lewis Gym was rocking on Monday night, and Central State fed off every bit of that energy.
Behind a statement performance from Javantae Randle and a barrage of timely shooting, the Marauders opened their home slate in dominant fashion, knocking off Fort Valley State 90–74 to move to 2–1 overall and 1–0 in SIAC play.
From the opening tip, CSU looked ready for the moment. The Marauders played fast, shared the basketball, and defended with purpose, racing out to a 42–26 halftime lead thanks in part to suffocating pressure that forced turnovers and turned them into transition buckets.
Randle Sets the Tone Early
Forward Javantae Randle, the TKDS Player of the Game, was nearly unstoppable from start to finish. The sophomore delivered a monster double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds, shooting an ultra-efficient 10-of-15 from the field and burying three shots from beyond the arc. Whether he was finishing through contact, stepping out to shoot, or controlling the glass, Randle dictated the rhythm of the night.
Pryor Paces the Backcourt
Returning standout Ramar Pryor was the steadying force at the guard spot, pouring in 17 points while adding 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Pryor consistently broke down the defense, kept the ball moving, and made timely plays in the second half as Fort Valley State tried to rally.
Balanced Scoring, Big Energy
The Marauders showed depth across the board:
-
Emanuel Henriques knocked down three triples and scored 11 points in just 11 minutes.
-
Micah Bays gave CSU a major boost off the bench with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
-
Freshman guard Khalil Luster added 8 points and 4 assists, including two threes that brought the crowd to its feet.
-
In total, twelve Marauders scored as CSU knocked down 12 threes and shot 87% from the free-throw line.
Fort Valley State made a push in the second half behind improved shooting, but every time the Wildcats closed the gap, CSU responded — a steal, a three, a Randle putback, or a Pryor drive.
Setting the Tone for the Season
With the Marauder faithful packing Beacom/Lewis Gym, the atmosphere felt like classic Marauder basketball — loud, energetic, and unified. The home opener showcased the kind of depth, toughness, and offensive firepower that this CSU squad aims to build on throughout SIAC play.
The Marauders return to action later this week as they continue their early-season home stretch.
