ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced weekly honors for men's volleyball Wednesday, March 6. Central State'sĀ Tyrone SandsĀ was namedĀ Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.Ā KJ HarrisonĀ andĀ Ian FordĀ brought homeĀ additional honors for the Marauders asĀ Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the WeekĀ andĀ Setter of the Week, respectively.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -Ā Tyrone Sands, Central State University

Tyrone Sands is proving to be an offensive leader for the team with over 60Ā combined kills from the Marauder'sĀ fiveĀ matches last week. Sands'Ā 21 kills in a Talladega match resulted in a single match high and hisĀ personal best.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -Ā KJ Harrison, Central State University

Harrison recordedĀ over 55 total combined digs in five matches last weekĀ against Talladega (doubleheader), Fort Valley andĀ Morehouse (doubleheader). HeĀ had a single season match high during the Talladega match of 23 digs, just twoĀ digs shy of breaking the single season match record held by former libero Victor Scherer.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK -Ā Ian Ford, Central State University

Ian Ford recorded over 160Ā total combined assists in five matches last week Ā against Talladega (doubleheader), Fort Valley andĀ Morehouse (doubleheader). FordĀ had a single season match high of 51 assists during the Talladega match, just twoĀ assists shy from breaking the schools single season match record of 53 held by former setter Marcus Franck.
