The Central State University Women's Track and Field team delivered strong performances across several events during their recent competition. Key highlights include:

200 Meters: Kapri Dawkins (SR-4) ran a solid time of 25.99 seconds, finishing in 5th place overall. Jurnie Hemsley (SR-4) followed closely with a time of 26.20 seconds, placing 7th, while Jaylin Bradshaw (SR-4) clocked 27.19 seconds for 13th.

300 Meters: Aiyana Da'Silva (FR-1) posted a time of 43.28 seconds to take 4th place, while Kaylah Huston (SR-4) finished 5th in 45.52 seconds. Amarianna Lofton (JR-3) secured 7th with a time of 45.85 seconds.

400 Meters: Kapri Dawkins (SR-4) achieved a 2nd-place finish with a time of 58.89 seconds, closely followed by Jaylin Bradshaw (SR-4) in 5th with 59.75 seconds. Paige Turner (JR-3) also participated, finishing with a time of 1:04.49.

800 Meters: Michael Addison (SR-4) ran a competitive race, finishing in 4th place with a time of 2:27.68. Mariah Huston (JR-3) and Paige Turner (JR-3) also participated, with times of 2:43.57 and 2:55.17, respectively.

60 Meter Hurdles: Amarianna Lofton (JR-3) was the standout in this event, winning the final with a time of 8.94 seconds. She had the fastest preliminary time as well, 8.91 seconds. Anyah Stevenson (FR-1) also made an impact, securing 7th place in the finals with a time of 10.05 seconds.

Relays: In the 4x200 meter relay, the team did not place in the top spots, but they showed determination across their squad. The 4x400 meter relay team finished 2nd with a time of 4:00.65, while the B team finished with a time of 4:17.25.
Women's High Jump
Amarianna Lofton from Central State claimed first place with a jump of 1.70 meters (5' 7"), matching the mark of Cierra Lively from Wright State. Both athletes cleared heights steadily, with Lofton ultimately securing the victory on fewer attempts at 1.70m. Other notable performances included Taylor Weiss from Wittenberg (1.64m) and Julissa Williams (1.61m).
Women's Pole Vault
Peyton Proffitt of Ohio Dominican won the pole vault with a leap of 3.73 meters (12' 2.75"). Sophia Schneider from Cedarville placed second with a mark of 3.45 meters (11' 3.75"), while Tiffany Hix from Wittenberg cleared 3.35 meters (10' 11.75") for third. Meredith Goecke of Wright State, who cleared 3.20 meters (10' 6"), also had a strong performance.
Women's Long Jump
Angela Williams from Cedarville led the long jump with a jump of 5.55 meters (18' 2.5"). Jailee Clemmons from Dayton placed second at 5.36 meters (17' 7"). Julia Schena from Denison jumped 5.00 meters (16' 5") to secure third place. Central State's Brianna Taylor finished 13th with a mark of 3.92 meters (12' 10.5").
Women's Triple Jump
Paula Soric of Kenyon won the triple jump with a leap of 11.08 meters (36' 4.25"). Julissa Williams from Wittenberg placed second at 10.59 meters (34' 9"), while Julia Schena from Denison finished third with a jump of 10.37 meters (34' 0.25"). Central State's performance was limited in this event.
Women's Shot Put
Cedarville's Emma Bailey won the shot put with a throw of 12.38 meters (40' 7.5"), followed closely by Darcey Dorris from Central State, who achieved 11.77 meters (38' 7.5"). Aleah Otabor, also from Central State, placed fourth with a throw of 11.44 meters (37' 6.5").
These results highlight the strong performances by Central State athletes, particularly in the high jump and shot put events, with Lofton and Dorris making notable contributions to their team's success.

Central State Men's Track & Field Recap: Wittenberg Tiger Opener – December 7, 2024
The Central State University men's track and field team had a promising start to the season at the Wittenberg Tiger Opener on December 7, 2024. With numerous athletes showcasing their talents, CSU's sprinters and middle-distance runners put in strong performances against stiff competition.
60 Meters:Â Kam'Rond Dillard was a standout in the 60-meter event, securing a spot in the finals after posting a 7.02 in the preliminary round. In the final, Dillard finished in second place with a time of 6.99, just 0.10 seconds behind Ohio Dominican's Vitner Crews, who clocked 6.89 to take the win. Glenwin Thompson also competed in the prelims but fell short of qualifying for the finals with a time of 7.21.
200 Meters: Dillard continued his solid performance in the 200 meters, where he ran a respectable 23.37. However, it was Glenwin Thompson who was the top finisher for CSU, posting a time of 22.78 to place fourth overall. The event was dominated by Wright State's Jude Elkins (22.23), with Crews again placing high (23.03). CSU's James Lacking (23.18) and Ariel Etah (23.30) rounded out the team's efforts in the race.
400 Meters: In the 400 meters, CSU's Qimarreon Marks showed great promise, finishing in 50.81 for a solid 7th place finish. Senior James Lacking was right behind him with a time of 51.18. Freshman Ariel Etah also impressed in his debut, running 51.46 to place 10th. The event was topped by Cedarville's Jeremy Johnson, who recorded an NCAA DII qualifying time of 48.07.
800 Meters: CSU did not have a major presence in the 800 meters, but they showed steady improvement with athletes like Zayden Taylor (2:00.54) and Mason Duncan (2:01.45) competing in a highly competitive field. Cedarville's Caleb Sultan led the race, winning in 1:53.23, while CSU athletes aim to build on these early-season efforts.
Notable Performances: Other notable performances included strong showings in the 300 meters by CSU's Juwan Rigby (who ran 23.47 in the 200 meters) and 400 meters by Ivory Payne (52.43). Both are expected to be key contributors throughout the season.
Men's Shot Put
Chris Slater from Denison earned top honors in the shot put with a throw of 15.23m (49' 11.75"), followed by Justin Shuga from Wilmington at 14.54m (47' 8.5"). Nathaniel McHardy of Central State placed third with a mark of 14.29m (46' 10.75").
In the first flight of the shot put, Andre Calvert (Central State) led the pack with a throw of 13.54m (44' 5.25").
With several athletes showcasing their potential and improving with each meet, Central State's men's track and field team looks forward to a strong indoor season ahead.
