SERIES HISTORY - PENN STATE
- Penn State and Central State will play for the second time in program history.
- The Nittany Lions won the first ever meeting between the teams by a 3-1 score last season at Ohio State's Covelli Center.
SERIES HISTORY - LEWIS
- Lewis and Central State will play for the first time in program history
- The teams were scheduled to play in 2022, but that match was canceled due to weather.
MATCH NOTES & STATS
- Penn State was picked as the favorite in the EIVA Preseason Poll. They won the EIVA regular season title in each of the past three seasons and won the EIVA Tournament title last season.
- Central State comes in with a new look roster and just three returning players from last season's SIAC runner-up season. Alain Tamo-Noce, Joel Herrera and Tyrone Sands look to lead the Marauders to their the NCAA Men's volleyball tournament in the first year of eligibility for the SIAC. While freshman Simon Falayi, Nicholaus Gooden-Brooks, Toulmin "Quad" Williams IV and Ian Ford look to make an early impact for the Marauders.
SEASON NOTES
- As Central State enters their third season as a DI program they continue building national recognition by playing top rated programs across the country. This season is no different as the Marauders face 8 pre-season ranked teams. Central State has matches vs 8 nationally ranked programs #2 Long Beach State, #6 Penn State, #12 USC, #16 Lewis, #17 Cal State Northridge, #18 Charleston, #19 Lincoln Memorial and #22 UC San Diego. This season will be the first that the SIAC is eligible for the national championships. The Marauders won the SIAC in year one, while finishing as runner-up in season 2.
