Marauders unable to keep up in 67-50 loss to Tuskegee
WILBERFORCE, Ohio - The Central State Marauders lost to the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee, 67-50, on Monday night.
The loss drops CSU to 5-10 overall and 5-5 in SIAC play. TU improves to 13-4 on the year and 8-2 in the conference.
CSU was hindered by 23 turnovers compared to TU's 10 giveaways. The Tigers outscored the Marauders, 15-3, in points off turnovers while taking 27 more shot attempts than CSU in the game. TU was also effective scoring in the paint with a 40-18 edge over CSU. TU also had the advantage in rebounding, 44-32.
Gregg Boyd led TU scorers with 12 points. Reco Hallmon scored 11 points.Â
Marcus Steele and
Steven Key II each had 12 points to lead CSU's offensive efforts.
Central State hosts Kentucky State on Saturday.
