Lady Marauders beat Spring Hill, 74-64

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Lady Marauders led by as many as 23 and held on to beat the Badgers of Spring Hill, 74-64, on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, CSU improves to 7-6 on the year with a 6-2 mark in SIAC play. SHC falls to 2-11 overall and 1-7 in the conference.

CSU took control early while holding Spring Hill to just six points in the first 13 minutes of play. The Lady Marauders appeared in full control throughout the first half and took a 35-22 lead at intermission.
The Badgers crept back into the game thanks to a 15-0 scoring run in the third quarter. An Emyria Harris jumper brought SHC within three, 50-47, as the third quarter came to a close.

Ciara Hardy put CSU up by eight midway through the fourth quarter. The CSU lead eventually jumped up to 13 with three minutes to play and the Lady Marauders remained in control until the final whistle.

Kailyn Nash led all players with 20 points and eight rebounds.
Abbigail Peterson added 16 points and Hardy finished with 11 points.

CSU held advantages in points scored off turnovers (34-18), points in the paint (52-28), and second chance points (21-4).

CSU hosts Tuskegee on Monday night at 5:30 pm.
