ATLANTA, Georgia – The Central State Marauders won at Morehouse College, 85-80, on Wednesday night.
 

The win snapped CSU's four-game losing streak as the Marauders improved to 4-9 overall and 4-4 in the SIAC. Morehouse fell to 5-5 on the season and 2-4 in conference play.
 

CSU jumped out to a 44-35 lead at half with an efficient shooting performance, going 18-for-36 from the field (50%) including five of 11 makes from beyond the arc (45.5%). MHC jumped back into the game thanks to a 10-1 run to open the second half. The Maroon Tigers momentarily took the lead with just under 10 minutes to play but CSU's hot shooting night proved to be too much to overcome.
 

Led by Marcus Scott V, Willie Jackson and Steven Key II, CSU shoot even better in the second half as shooters combined to make 15 of 21 field goals (71.4%). CSU was efficient down the stretch converting all four free throw attempts in route to the five-point win.
 

CSU finished the game with season-high shooting percentages in field goals (57.9%) and three-point field goals (58.8%).
 

Morehouse was paced by 19 points from Ibn Williams. The Tigers made 31 of 66 field goal attempts in the game (47.0%) and 6 of 15 from three-point range (40.0%).
 

Scott V led all players with 24 points and seven assists. Jackson scored 21 points and Key II finished with 19 points. Ibrahima Jarjou provided presence in the paint, blocking four shots to go along with seven rebounds and six points.
 

"We are always going to play hard. We have a good group of young men. Our guys are growing as a unit. We had lost a few games down the stretch but we executed down the stretch tonight," said CSU head coach Antonio O. Davis. "I saw a tremendous amount of effective communication and growth tonight. It is all about getting better as we move forward."
 

The Marauders return home to host Spring Hill on Saturday at 3 pm.
