Marauders beat Edward Waters in five sets to advance to SIAC Final
ROCK HILL, South Carolina -Â In a battle between the top seeds in the SIAC Tournament, the top seeded Central State Marauders beat second seeded Edward Waters in five sets on Wednesday afternoon.
CSU won the first set, 25-18. EWU took the second set, 25-19. CSU edged EWU, 25-23, in the third. The fourth frame went to EWU, 25-15. CSU took the deciding set, 15-11.
Yaron Afek led the Marauders with a season-high 21 kills and 10 digs. All-SIAC outside hitter
Cameron Lee finished with 20 kills marking the first time CSU has had two players record 20 or more kills in a match this season.
All-SIAC middle blocker
D'Aaron McCraney led all players with four blocks. While SIAC Setter of the Year
Marcus Franck finished with 41 assists along with 10 digs and three blocks.
CSU attackers combined for 54 kills and 28 errors on 136 total attacks for a hitting percentage of .191. EWU recorded 48 kills and 23 errors on 120 attacks for a .208 hitting percentage.
Advancing to the SIAC Final, CSU will await to play the winner of Thursday's 10 am match between EWU and Benedict.
CSU will need to win one match to claim the tournament title while its opponent must beat CSU twice.
