Five Marauders named to the All-SIAC Team


ROCK HILL, South Carolina - Prior to Tuesday's opening round of the SIAC Men's Volleyball Tournament, the SIAC announced the 2022 All-Conference team which included Central State's Marcus Franck, Victor Scherer, D'Aaron McCraney, Cameron Lee, and Antonio Barraza


In addition to earning All-SIAC honors, Franck was selected as the conference's Setter of the Year while Scherer earned SIAC Libero of the Year honors.


A 6'5 freshman from Congonhas, Brazil, Franck has recorded 587 assists this season while averaging 7.25 assists per set. Franck's season-high in assists of 44 came in a April 2 win over Benedict. He also leads the team in service aces with 37 while contributing on the attack with 80 kills and a .259 hitting percentage. Franck has earned SIAC Player of the Week honors four times throughout the season.


Scherer, a 5'11 freshman from Porto Alegve, Brazil, is among the nation's leaders in digs with 169 and digs per set with an average of 2.82. His season high of 17 digs came in a February match against Campbellsville. Considered one the SIAC's most consistent performers, Scherer has earned SIAC Player of the Week honors three times this season.


D'Aaron McCraney, a 6'8 freshman middle blocker from Las Vegas, Nevada, leads the Marauders in hitting percentage with .303 while recording 151 kills along with 46 blocks. McCraney has recorded a .400 or better hitting percentage in 10 matches this season while earning SIAC Player of the Week honors four times throughout the year.


Cameron Lee, a 6'1 outside hitter, has emerged as one of CSU's most consistent offensive players. The freshman from Edmond, Oklahoma is second on the team with 155 total kills and is averaging 2.18 kills per set. In CSU's 10 conference matches, Lee averaged a .333 hitting percentage while recording a season-high 18 kills against Benedict on April 2. Lee earned SIAC Player of the Year honors on April 10.


A 6'6 middle blocker from Mesa, Arizona, freshman Antonio Barraza leads the Marauders in total blocks with 49. He has recorded 70 kills and a .275 hitting percentage with season-highs of 9 kills and a .750 hitting percentage coming in the final match of the regular season against Kentucky State. Barraza has earned SIAC Player of the Week honors twice this season.


Central State's led all SIAC schools with five all-conference selections. 


The Marauders compete in the SIAC Tournament the week. All matches are held at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center held in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
