MBB Weekend Recap: Marauders lose to Miles and LeMoyne-Owen

Summary:
In a relatively low scoring game, Miles College used a 13-2 run at the end of the first half and a 7-0 run down the stretch to beat Central State 65-56 on Saturday.
After CSU's
Dustin Davis hit from three-point range with 6:27 to go in the first half, CSU managed to score just once in the over the next six minutes as Miles claimed momentum with thier 13-2 run to go into the break up, 33-25.
CSU cut the deficit down to two points midway through the second but never was able to regain the lead. Up by five with 3:10 to play, a dunk by Yasim Hooker sparked a 7-0 run to give MC a 65-53 lead and the eventual nine-point victory over CSU.
Miles held advantages in points off turnovers (17-10), bench points (15-6), and points in the paint (30-20).
Hooker led MC with a game-high 21 points. Mykayle Carter added 13 points.
Raymon Adams scored 19 points to lead CSU.
Michael Reeves had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Alex Dotson added 10 points and eight rebounds. No other CSU players scored more than four points in the loss.
With Saturday's result, CSU dropped to 5-8 overall and 3-5 in SIAC play. MC improved to 11-3 overall and 6-1 in the conference.

In a game with 13 lead changes, the Central State Marauders came up short in Monday's 93-86 road loss to LeMoyne-Owen.
After a
Alex Dotson three-pointer gave CSU a 56-53 lead at the 13:59 mark of the second half, LOC siezed momentum on their home floor by making five of their next six shot attempts to go on a 12-0 run to take a nine point lead. CSU cut the lead down to three with 7:38 to play but never fully recovered from the mid-half run by LOC as CSU went on to drop its third straight road game.
LOC limited its turnovers to eight while converting 81.3 percent from the free throw line (13-16) and 48.6 percent from the field (17-38).Â
CSU gave the ball away 11 times while shooting 46.4 percent from the field. The Marauders finished with a season best 87.5 percent from the line (14-16).
Four LOC players scored in double figures led by Trevor Blackman's 24 points.
CSU's
Raymon Adams finished with a game-high 27 points and 12 rebounds.
Willie Jackson and
Lavar Miller each scored 13 points.
Kameron Ivory had 12 points and Dotson finished with 10 in the loss.
CSU drops to 5-9 overall and 3-6 in the SIAC while LOC improves 9-5 on the year and 5-4 in the conference.
