Shaw runs past Central State, 52-0
RALEIGH, North Carolina – The Central State Marauders were unable to keep with the Bears of Shaw University, losing 52-0 on Saturday.

Shaw jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and remained in control with a 28-0 lead at the half. The Bears put up 17 more points in the third quarter and cruised to the shutout victory.
A CSU defense without key starters
Donta Marshall and
Bryan Sarente surrendered nearly 500 yards of total offense to Shaw. CSU was outgained on the ground 299 yards to 48 yards.
The loss drops the Marauders to 1-2 overall while Shaw improves to 1-2 on the season. CSU resumes SIAC play next Saturday when they travel to play at Miles College.

After a Shaw kickoff return to midfield, the Bears needed little time finding the endzone as Peters scored from 20 yards out on third down with 11:21 left in the third quarter. (SU 35-0)

Keandre Powell led the CSU defensive efforts with 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, and an interception.
