Marauders lose to Tuskegee, 29-0

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Marauders gave the ball away three times and failed to score in a 29-0 home loss to Tuskegee on Saturday.

CSU managed just 175 yards of total offense while platooning first year quarterbacks
Jacoby Smith and Stefon Thomas. While only completing seven passes on the day, the TU offense relied on its rushing attack and special teams. TU rushers accounted for 225 total yards on the ground while kicker Arnes Huskic converted all three field goal attempts.

The loss drops CSU to 1-6 overall with a 0-4 record in SIAC play. TU improves to 3-4 on the year with a 2-1 ledger in conference play.

CSU travels to Jacksonville, Florida next Saturday to play Edward Waters.

CSU's first drive ended abruptly Disaster struck as quarterback
Jacoby Smith was sacked from the blindside, separating the ball in the process as Tuskegee got to start its first possession on CSU's 20-yard line. TU quarterback Louis Williams cashed in on the early turnover, connecting with a wide-open Latrevien O'Neal to open the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown (7-0 TU).

CSU threatened to score on its next drive but a
Jose Chaires' field goal attempt from 42 yards was missed wide left in a prevailed 16 mph wind.

Tuskegee marched 74 yards on nine plays for their second score capped off by a four-yard run (14-0 TU).

The second quarter scoring began with TU kicker Arnes Huskic extending the advantage to three scores from 36 yards out (17-0 TU).

After a CSU turnover, Huskic made his third field goal of the day, a 22-yarder to put the game well out of reach early into the fourth (23-0 TU).

Kedrick Greene scored a late rushing touchdown for TU with 56 seconds left to go (29-0 TU).

Jamal Holloway was impressive in the loss, recording a team high nine tackles, including three tackles for a loss and a half a sack.
Justice Thompson and
DeAnthony Perry, both freshmen from Louisville, Kentucky, also helped pace the CSU defensive efforts. Thompson finished with eight tackles and one sack while Perry finished the afternoon with eight tackles and a half a sack.

Demonte' Dunlap, who led the team with 53 yards on 13 carries.

TU runner Ivonte Patterson rushed for 100 yards and a score.
