A new look for Marauder football heading into 2021
 

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Central State University head football coach Bobby Rome II and his staff continued their successful pursuit of adding talent to the CSU roster, officially signing 15 new student-athletes for the upcoming 2021 season.

 
"While adjusting to the restrictions and safety measures associated with Covid-19, we have effectively used the unexpected time away from games and practices to recruit a sensational group of student-athletes. Our staff continues to cultivate the relationships between CSU and high schools throughout the country," Rome says. "We are excited to welcome our new players to the Marauder football family. We are confident that this group has the ability to make an immediate impact and help us take the next step towards contending for the SIAC title."

 
CSU's initial group of signees includes six players from Virginia, four from Ohio, three from Illinois, one from New Jersey and one from Texas. Rome, who was named CSU's head coach last spring, expressed his enthusiasm about the future of Marauder football.

 
"This is our first full class as a coaching staff and we will continue to add talent in the coming months," says Rome. "It's been fantastic to go through the recruiting process with each individual. We are all excited to be part of building a championship team. Central State is a program and a university that's on the rise."

 
A position breakdown of Rome's signing class includes four defensive backs, three defensive linemen, two quarterbacks, two offensive linemen, two receivers, one running back and one linebacker. More players are expected to choose Central State as their destination in the upcoming weeks.

 
Central State is scheduled to start pre-season conditioning and practice in July.
