Spaulding's career night lifts CSU to 68-60 win over Bellarmine
 

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Lady Marauders beat Bellarmine, 68-60, in Saturday afternoon behind a career-high 24 points from junior guard Brooke Spaulding.
 
 
With the win, CSU improves to 2-2 overall while BU falls to 1-2 on the season.
 
 
Bellarmine jumped out to 17-15 after the first quarter. Central State responded by going nine-of-14 from the field and outscoring the Knights 22-11 in the second frame to take a 37-28 lead at the intermission.
 
 
Central State led by as many as 15 points in the third quarter and 19 in the fourth period. The eight-point differential to end the game was as close as BU got in the second half.
 
 
The Lady Marauders shot 51.9 percent from the field. On her way to her 24 points, Spaulding made nine of 19 shot attempts and was four-of-five from the free throw line. In addition to Spaulding's career night, Bri'elle Johnson finished with 12 points and eight rebounds while Sandra Guilford contributed 10 points and five rebounds in the victory.
 
 
BU was paced by Lauren Deel's 12 points and seven rebounds.
 

CSU will return to action on Tuesday when they host California (PA) at 5:30 pm
