TUSKEGEE, Alabama – Central State University lost to Tuskegee University on Saturday, 21-10.
 
With the victory, TU improves to 3-4 overall with a 3-1 record in the SIAC. CSU drops to 2-5 on the year with a 1-2 ledger in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

 
1st Quarter

On a rainy day with a saturated playing surface, Tuskegee struck first with a 49-yard touchdown run from Taurean Taylor. The score took place at the 5:08 mark of the first quarter, taking up 6-plays on 73 yards. (TU 7-0)

 
 
2nd Quarter
 
 
On the first possession of the second quarter, CSU responded with one yard touchdown run by Derell Williams, to tie the game at 7-7.

 
 
3rd Quarter
 
TU fumbled the ball away on its opening drive of the second half. After a recovery by CSU's Kwantay Stanley at the TU 23-yard line. CSU settled for a 38-yard field goal by Joshua Nunes to take the lead at the 12:42 mark of the third quarter (CSU 10-7).
 
 
TU reclaimed momentum when Ladarell Pettway gave the Golden Tigers the lead back by returning a 35-yard punt back for a score (TU 14-10).

 
4th Quarter
 
TU added to its lead as Peyton Ramzy broke things open early in the fourth quarter after being on the receiving end of a 13-yard pass from Steven Hodges (TU 21-10).





 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE


 
CSU was held to zero yards on offense in the fourth quarter.
 
 
Due to injury, CSU played the entire game with Derell Williams at quarterback.
 
 
CSU running back Terraris Saffold, the leading rusher in the SIAC, was held to a season-low 32 yards on Saturday.
 
 
Saffold entered Saturday as the SIAC leader in rushing yards and all-purpose yards.
 
 
CSU recovered a season-high three fumbles on Saturday.
 
 
TU totaled 270 yards of offense compared to CSU's 112 yards.
 
 
The CSU offense was 3 of 14 on third down and 0 of 2 on fourth down. TU was 5 of 13 on third down and 1 of 2 on fourth down.
