Central State football adds to 2018 roster
 
WILBERFORCE, Ohio -- The Marauders of Central State University officially welcomed twelve new players this week.
 
"We are excited to welcome our new players to the Marauder football family," Central State head football coach Cedric Pearl said. "This group of recruits have the ability to make an immediate impact. Our staff is looking forward to working with them."
 
CSU's initial group of new additions includes five players from Michigan, two from Ohio, one from Alabama, one from Florida, one from New York, one from Oregon and one from Texas.
 
"One of our main goals in recruiting is to identify strong students who will be leaders on the field and in the classroom," Pearl says. "Combining this year's recruiting class with our returning players, we have a young team filled with guys who are great students of the game and possess a tremendous desire to get better every day. We are looking forward to assisting our young men in their development as players while also maintaining a focus on academics and graduation."
 
The signees include two receivers, one fullback, three offensive linemen, three defensive linemen, two linebackers and one defensive back. More players are expected to choose Central State as their destination in the upcoming weeks.

Central State will open the 2018 season on the road against Elizabeth City State on Sept. 1. The full football schedule will be released later this spring.
