Central State runner Raymond Korir wraps up cross country season with appearance at NCAA Div. II Championships

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Central State University freshman Raymond Korir wrapped up an impressive cross country season with a 87th place finish out of 266 runners at the NCAA Div. II National Championships on Saturday.

Korir was the first CSU runner to qualify for the NCAA Div. II National Championships, which were held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Korir has been CSU's top runner throughout the fall. He finished first at the SIAC Championships last month, earning SIAC Runner of the Year honors. Two weeks later, he finished in second place at the NCAA Div. II South Region Championships and became the first Marauder to earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors.

"Raymond has been a tremendously hard worker and will continue to get better," head coach James Rollins says. "He put together a great freshman season and is motivated to continue to perform on a high level as we enter the indoor track season."

CSU begins the indoor track and field season this Friday at Grand Valley State University.
