Lady Marauders win on the road, 75-64, over LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The Central State Lady Marauders picked up a crucial conference victory on the road, 75-64, over LeMoyne-Owen College on Saturday night.

With the victory, CSU improves to 16-4 overall with a SIAC leading 10-2 record. LOC falls to 9-9 overall with a 6-6 mark in conference play.

CSU opened up with a 23-13 lead after the first quarter and maintained a ten point lead, 37-27, at halftime. LOC narrowed the gap to five by outscoring CSU, 24-19, in the third quarter. The Lady Marauder defense tightened up in the final ten minutes, holding the Magicians to 13 points to propel CSU to victory.

CSU forced 33 turnovers and held a 35-25 edge in points scored off giveaways.

A season-high seven players scored in double-figures for CSU.

Brooke Spaulding led the balanced CSU scoring attack with 12 points.
Jaeda Davis,
Sierra Harley and
Falon Edwards each finished with 11 points.
Chavon Banks,
Destinee Russell and
Mustafa Notter scored 10 points each.

Tenesha Wright led LOC with a game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds.

CSU will travel to Jackson, Tennessee to play Lane College on Monday.

With her 11-performance on Saturday,
Sierra Harley accumulated her 800
th point in a CSU uniform.
CSU has climbed up to No. 8 in the D2SIDA South Region Poll.
With Saturday's win, CSU swept the regular season series against LOC (2-0).
CSU leads the SIAC in scoring (78.7 ppg), assists (16.3 apg), offensive rebounding (19.1 orpg) and steals (13.9 spg).
CSU currently leads the SIAC West Division by 1-game over Spring Hill.
