Lady Marauders beat Lane, 67-57

 
JACKSON, Tennessee – The Central State Lady Marauders earned another conference victory on the road, 67-57, over Lane College on Monday night.
 

With the victory, CSU improves to 17-4 overall with a SIAC leading 11-2 record. LC falls to 4-17 overall with a 4-8 mark in conference play.
 

CSU fell behind, 6-0, to start the game but quickly found their mark in Bruce Hall Gymnasium with three-pointers by Jaeda Davis, Destinee Russell and Sierra Harley. CSU closed the first quarter on a 11-3 run to take a 22-14 lead. CSU's increased their lead to sixteen, 30-14, with four minutes left in the second quarter and took a 38-14 lead at the half.

 
CSU took their largest lead of the game, 57-33, on another Harley three-pointer with 1:05 left in the third quarter. Entering the final period up 57-35, the Lady Marauders maintained a healthy lead. Lane managed to closed the game on an 11-0 run but never legitimately challenged for the lead.

 
CSU held a 22-12 edge in points scored off turnovers.

 
Harley led the Lady Marauders with 15 points and 5 assists. Falon Edwards recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds.

 
Chloe Roberts led Lane with 13 points and 9 rebounds.
 
 
CSU will take the rest of the week off before hosting Spring Hill College next Monday during Senior Recognition Night.
 


 
Notes

CSU is currently ranked No. 10 in the D2SIDA South Region Poll.

With Monday's win, CSU swept the regular season series against LC (2-0).

CSU leads the SIAC in scoring (78.1 ppg), assists (16.1 apg), offensive rebounding (18.9 orpg) and steals (13.4 spg).

CSU currently leads the SIAC West Division by 1-game over Spring Hill.

CSU will recognize six seniors during pre-game of next Monday's home game against Spring Hill
