Lady Marauders struggle to find mark in loss to Spring Hill
MOBILE, Alabama – The Central State Lady Marauders had their six game winning streak snapped in a 82-68 loss to Spring Hill on Monday.
CSU drops to 15-4 overall with a SIAC leading 9-2 record. SHC improves to 13-6 on the season with a 7-3 mark in the conference.
SHC scored 29 points in the first 10 minutes of play and took a 10-point lead entering the second quarter. CSU was unable to find much offense in the second stanza, totaling just 6 points and trailed 46-24 at halftime.
CSU never developed a serious threat to the SHC lead in the second half. A
Brooke Spaulding three-pointer brought the Lady Marauders within thirteen with 2:06 to play but SHC comfortably closed out the game on their way to their sixth straight win.
Spring Hill shot 51% from the field while CSU shooters made just 31% of their field goal attempts.

Four players scored in double figures for Spring Hill. Tiffany Valentine led SHC with 26 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Brooke Spaulding led CSU's efforts with 18 points.

CSU will travel to Memphis, Tennessee to play LeMoyne-Owen on Saturday at 1 pm cst.
