Sierra Harley leads CSU past Wilberforce, 72-56

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – In a renewal of a historic rivalry between two schools separated by less than two-hundred yards, the Central State Lady Marauders beat the Wilberforce Bulldogs, 72-56, on Thursday night.

With the victory, CSU improves to 15-3 overall. WU drops to 6-10 on the season.

CSU led for all but three minutes of the game. The Lady Marauders outscored the Bulldogs, 12-4, in the first quarter and led 25-18 at intermission.

The Lady Marauders pushed the pace in the second half, capping off the third quarter on a 12-2 run to build their lead to 49-32 entering the final ten minutes.

CSU pushed their lead to a margin of 20 midway through the fourth. Sierra Harley hit from beyond the arc to give the Lady Marauders their largest lead, 70-47, with under two minutes to play and the team cruised to their sixth consecutive victory.

CSU forced 27 turnovers and held a 27-15 edge in points scored of giveaways. CSU tied a season high with 56 team rebounds and held a 20-6 advantage in points scored off turnovers.

Harley led CSU with a game-high 24 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Falon Edwards finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals.

Britany Wells led WU with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

CSU will make its longest road trip of the season to play Spring Hill in Mobile, Alabama on Monday.

CSU has climbed up to No. 8 in the D2SIDA South Region Poll.

CSU's 56 rebounds tied a season-high (Dec. 2 vs. LeMoyne-Owen).
