Central State Marauders unable to keep pace with Pioneers of Malone University
WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Pioneers of Malone University cruised to a 89-68 victory over the Central State Marauders on Wednesday night.

Jeremy Brown, CSU fell to a record of 0-3 on the season. Malone improved to a mark of 2-1.
The Marauders opened the night with a 8-2 run but Malone answered with a 11-0 run to take a 13-8 lead at the 15:29 mark of the first quarter. The Pioneers led from that point forward, increasing their lead, 40-27, by halftime.
Malone opened the second half on a 7-0 run to go up by 20 points. By the 10 minute mark, MU had ballooned their lead, 70-40. CSU fell behind by as many as 35 in the second half as they watched the Pioneers stroll to the eventual 22-point victory.
The three-point line continues to be an issue for the Marauders. Malone made 15 of 28 shots from beyond the arc compared to CSU's 8 for 23 performance.
Nate Shepherd converted 10 of 15 shot attempts to lead led the way for the Pioneers with 25 points. Jaret Majestic went 6 of 7 from three-point range to finish with 18 points. Daylan Haynie finished with 14 points and 5 assists and Ty Jordan chipped in with 12 points in the MU victory.
Junior forward
Chris Scott paced the Marauder efforts with 25 points on a 10 for 18 shooting night. Scott also collected a game-high 10 rebounds.
Frank Barber III finished his night with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
CSU will return home on Saturday to play Lake Erie College at 3 pm. Lake Erie enters the game with an overall mark of 2-1.

Notes
After Wednesday's result, Central State trails Malone in the all-time series, 13-9.
In the first three games, opponents have combined to shoot 48% (42-86) from the three-point line while CSU has made just 25% (14-55) from beyond the arc.
Saturday's game against Lake Erie will be the final game before the Marauders begin SIAC play on Nov. 25 against Albany State.
Lake Erie and Central State will meet for the first time since the 2009-2010 season.
